TM-DT series

TM-DT is developed to provide smart solutions for Web-based POS systems or Web-based systems with the receipt printer and peripheral devices as a barcode scanner, automatic coin/banknote recycler, IC card reader, and/or CAT terminal. The TM-DT is composed of the TM-DT intelligent unit, which has a high performance Intel Atom CPU, user memory, and peripheral I/Os, and the standard TM printer, TM-T88V and so on with stylish and small footprint (POS) shape. So by co-operating with tablet PC and/or mobile devices, you can built up a stylish and smart (POS) system.

Feature 1: Built-in Web server

Built-in Web server

TM-DT has a built-in Web server. Web applications can be installed and run on the Web server locally even when the Internet connection to the Web server on the cloud is interrupted.

Feature 2: Smart peripheral device control using Epson ePOS SDK

Epson ePOS SDK is the smart method to control peripheral devices including TM printers using applications. By using Epson ePOS SDK,

You don't need to install drivers for each POS peripheral device at a terminal.
You can customize ePOS-Device Service for your POS peripherals using JavaScript, which is called "Device control script".

Epson will add well-used peripheral devices to be supported by ePOS-Device Service. Please refer to ePOS-Device list at Support page for the latest supported device list.

Feature 3: Easy TM printer expansion using Printer Hub

This is one of extended functions for ePOS-Device. The TM-DT becomes a hub of standard TM printers on the same network. Using Printer Hub function, you can print out a receipt at standard TM printers through one TM-DT at Web application. This means one TM-DT is enough for a (POS) system on the same network even when you need multiple receipt printers in a (POS) system. At that time, TM printer(s) have to be connected to a TM-DT through Ethernet I/F or Wi-Fi I/F for other printers.

Feature 4: Easy setup, deployment and maintenance

Using the pre-installed tool, TMNet WebConfig, you can set up and maintain the POS system easily for the Web based POS systems.
The key functions that are configured by TMNet WebConfig are as follows:

Configuration of the peripheral devices including TM printer
Importing a backup setting file to TM-DT
Restoring the original setting file to the TM-DT
Server Direct Print to download print data at Web server periodically
Automatic Web Contents Update from Web server

Feature 5:Resilient Interfaces

TM-DT has resilient interfaces for a web based (POS) system and so on. When you want to use Wi-Fi I/F, you can utilize an optional OT-WL01 unit.

Feature 6: Stylish and small footprint design

TM-DT has a stylish and small footprint design. So the TM-DT will especially fit a small outlet that has limited space for the POS terminal.
